“Railroading On The South Coast”
A
Model Railroad Exhibit in HO-Scale
Funded in part by a grant from the Alice Tweed Tuohy
Foundation
This operating exhibit
depicts the railroad areas of Santa Barbara and Goleta, California
during the late-steam/early-diesel era.
The historic Goleta
Depot, centerpiece of the railroad museum, is also the central
focus of the model railroad exhibit. |
| The
Coast Daylight crosses the Arroyo Hondo Bridge, west of Goleta.
The
Santa Barbara Railroad Yard is the exhibit's most complex feature.
| The
exhibit is a favorite with museum visitors |
The lemon-packing
house on La Patera Lane was one of the more active rail sites
in the Goleta Valley. |
Many
volunteers, including Perry Lorentzen (above), share the exhibit
with museum guests. |
