"Railroading on the South Coast"

A Model Railroad Exhibit in HO-Scale
Funded in part by a grant from the Alice Tweed Tuohy Foundation

This operating exhibit depicts the railroad areas of Santa Barbara and Goleta, California during the late-steam/early-diesel era.

The historic Goleta Depot, centerpiece of the railroad museum, is also the central focus of the model railroad exhibit.
The Coast Daylight crosses the Arroyo Hondo Bridge, west of Goleta.
The Santa Barbara Railroad Yard is the exhibit's most complex feature.
The exhibit is a favorite with museum visitors
The lemon-packing house on La Patera Lane was one of the more active rail sites in the Goleta Valley.
Many volunteers, including Perry Lorentzen (above), share the exhibit with museum guests.
